"Little one," Chan said softly, brushing a stray lock of hair from the boy’s forehead. "When was your last heat?"
Felix looked at him confused, his lips parted around a bite of pancake.
The change was instant.
“My what?”
"Your... your heat." Chan repeated, more gently this time.
Felix blinked, frowning. "My heat? W-what is that?"
Chan hesitated. He set his fork down with quiet precision, watching the boy's expression. “You don’t know? Didn’t your mother ever talk to you about it?"
Felix didn’t answer.
