    Leaving the mafia had been Osamu Dazai’s number one priority—after his best friend died telling to do so, and of course, he defects only a few days after that. Dazai’s almost proud of himself, until he gets trapped in a cruel twist of fate: taking care of a baby and being on the run from the mafia. That kind of life gets easy with a year or two—but when it’s time to come out of hiding and advance to the frontlines, he has reached the point of utter ruin. It can’t get any worse than this, right?

    That was, until Chuuya Nakahara, his former partner, and the father of his child found out, creating a new array of unresolved problems and oh so much tension between them. If there’s a word for ‘worse than exes but still love each other and pining for each other so much it’s inhumane’, he desperately wants to know. It really cannot get worse from this point.

    Until all his secrets come tumbling down and he gets exposed for who he truly is.

    When Chuuya finally decides to escape the clutches of the mafia, he manages to drag Ryunosuke and Gin along with him. During the chase, he decides not to speak to Dazai, knowing that if he did, he won't be able to escape or drag him out of the mafia. The boy's mind was so confused that it would be difficult to make him change sides.

    What he didn't know was that his departure caused far more trouble than expected in Dazai, intensifying his crises... until the day his beloved friend Oda Sakunosuke died and he heard an irritating noise.

    Chuuya was an orphan, and when the orphanage that he loved got burned when he was 7 years old, he got adopted by a kind and mysterious man that he calls "Master," except that "Master" is a seven-year-old demon prodigy named Dazai Osamu... and Dazai is not as kind as people think he is.

    A rapid infection, the doctor later explains. The odds were less than 15% that Dazai’s body would be able to fight it off. And, even if he did miraculously survive that, walking would be unbelievably painful, with the breaks he sustained. It would hurt every step, and radiate up. He’d always need a mobility aid. Maybe it would turn out he’d need it amputated anyway.

    The choice was logical, in Dazai’s mind. Keep your patient alive, albeit with a small cost, or risk him almost surely dying just to have him be in pain for the rest of his days with his mobility affected more than it would’ve if the limb was gone.

    He understands it. If he was in the doctor’s shoes, he would’ve done the same.

    Then why does he feel so bad?
