“Gojo-sensei was the one who hurt you. ” Fushiguro continued on, worry and irritance lacing his voice as he distinctly shot Gojo a glare at for outburst.
“Ah, sorry about that Yuuji-kun!” Gojo heartily apologised, raising a single hand as his half bowed. “No hard feelings right?”
The words were light and carefree, yet Yuuji could hear the implication nonetheless.
You understand why I did what I did.
Why I said what I said.
“Of course!” He grinned happily, disregarding the way Fushiguro berated him for his easy going acceptance and scolded Gojo for his careless words. Gojo was smiling at him pleasantly, the gratitude in his stance evident to Yuuji’s mind, because now it was obvious. If the choice ever arose again between Yuuji and Fushiguro — He knew exactly who Gojo would pick.
And not once would Yuuji ever blame him for it.
It was sort of comforting, knowing that there was someone out there who would be able to stop him before he did anything to harm the people he loved. Even though it was Gojo, his dearest Sensei, who was the one who had grown so ready to kill him at that moment, Yuuji could not bring himself to find any animosity towards the man.
It was an instinct to protect, Yuuji could understand it.
It’s nothing more than a conflict of interest.
His precious student or his precious child?
The boy he taught and cared for daily or the treasure whom he had raised carefully with every fibre of his being?
How could Yuuji possibly grow upset at such an action when even to him it was clear as day what the choice would be? It was an ultimatum that most parents would hardly hesitate in making.

Summary
Suguru begins to wonder if it’s lonely for Gojo. Keeping an inch between him and the world.
Not an inch, a voice that sounds suspiciously like Shoko reminds him. Infinity.
But does it feel like infinity? When summer’s humidity swells to its peak, can Gojo feel the pressure? When a barrage of low-level curses ambushes them in Roppongi, can he sense their velocity, the twist of the wind? When Suguru grazes the immovable space between them – hands him a test paper, shoulders past him in the corridor, reaches out, unthinking, to slap him on the back – does Gojo know the warmth of Suguru's skin?
Then, on July 12th, in a sour-smelling alley in Katsushika ward, Suguru catches him. Hunched over, spindly legs crouched, a street-worn cat pressing her nose to his fingertips. It licks her sandpaper tongue over his knuckles. Rubs the flat of her forehead against his palm. Gojo hums, pushing a tangled cowlick back with his thumb, a serene little smile on his face.
Yes, Suguru thinks. It must be lonely.
(Trauma is complicated, brains are strange, and Satoru Gojo is not immune to either of these truths.)

Title : a slaughterhouse, an outlet mall
Author : parsnips_and_methSPOILERS & Fav Snippets
- (trans) gojo has bpd.. he has a seizure on a mission with suguru.. turns out he has eating disorders... suguru shoko care
- geto gojo kissed but geto ruins it.. gojo 'escapes' by violent teleportation to a v far off place
- starving cold gojo taken care of by strangers.. utahime aarives and helps too and calls yaga.. yaga brings him back
- geto and shoko caring for gojo.. geto gojo finally talk and resolve things
- another bad day and geto helps him.. ending very sweetly.."It does not fix anything. Things will never be finished; there will always be more to endure. But there is always tomorrow. And if tomorrow is equally wretched, there is always the day after it." This line.. it is so relevant in so many aspects.. I will be holding it close to my heart this is so important 💝💝
"But Suguru isn’t the grand gesture type. Satoru is sure a gift’s expense means very little to him. He’s from Higashinaruse village; it has mountains and fireflies and parents who try their best. They gave him small things, priceless things. They gave themselves most of all." I can't even explain this one but it made me pause for a moment to process this cuz wow. So soft and simple and beautifully insightful.
"A scarf, no matter how long or immaculate, barely scratches the surface of his gratitude. And that is why it can’t be about gratitude at all. The scarf is not a transaction, because nothing between the three of them is a transaction; it is, and only ever has been, about love." Omg yes satoru finally grasping that it is not a transaction but loveee..so important..🤌🤌

Summary
“It’s defective,” Satoru announces as he swings into the morgue, purple cat-carrier in hand. “You got me a defective cat.”
“She’s defective,” Shoko sighs, peeling off her gloves. She peers into the carrier when Satoru places it down on the slab, brows pinching. She tilts her head left, then right. The creature inside snuffles. “Looks fine to me.”
“It breathes wrong,” he complains, “and it keeps making this coughing noise. It snores like a fucking pensioner – look, let me just—”
“Don’t you dare release your cat into a sterile environment,” Shoko snaps, slapping his hands away from the clips. “She shouldn’t even be in here.”
Satoru looks pointedly at the cursed blood dripping, violet and viscous, from the opposite mortuary cot. “Right,” he drawls. Then: “Can you send it back?”
She stares at him. “You did not just ask that.”
(Following the tragedy of Christmas Eve 2017, Shoko gets Satoru a cat. She has asthma.)

OR- how a cat and love from his loved ones helped saturo deal with his grief (after killing geto) in a not-self-destructive way for once

Fav Snippets
- “I hear you,” Satoru says, like a liar, “but Thérèse needs her steroid pump, and she gets grumpy if I don’t feed her by eight. And I need to pick up tinned pumpkin on the way home anyway, apparently it helps with… digestion…”
Yaga’s mouth is stuck half-open. Nanami looks like he’s mid-aneurysm. Shoko, who’s sitting by the window with a coffee strong enough to be battery acid, snorts into her cup.
“Thérèse?” Nanami asks, eyes narrowing behind his silly nose-clip glasses. “Who’s Thérèse?”
“His cat,” Shoko answers – gleefully.
Satoru feels like his entire soul has gone offline. It’s recalibrating, revealing itself to be something terrifying and tender. He realises he doesn’t recognise himself at all. That perhaps the hard exterior of Infinity has been up for so long he’s forgotten about its sickeningly squishy innards – and so has everyone else. For the longest time, Satoru Gojo has been a lethal weapon of mass destruction. Capable of decimating cities, capable of eviscerating the human race. But in this very moment, Satoru Gojo is someone who picks up tinned pumpkin for his asthmatic cat.
This is an exposure of truly violent proportions. This is an absolutely catastrophic blow to his reputation.
“Pretend I didn’t say any of that,” he says, brusque, and then – because he has no idea what else he can offer in his own defence – flees with the flagging remains of his dignity.
(Shoko’s raucous cackling follows him out of the building. He’d be angry about it, but – he hasn’t heard her laugh in a long, long time.)
- Love is strange, he thinks. It often arrives late and takes on various shapes. Like a best friend who smokes too much. Like two parentless children. Like a cat that needs his help to breathe and helps him breathe in turn.
People say cats don’t really love back. That they’re instinctive animals who only deal in food and shelter. Maybe he’s delusional for thinking Thérèse is different; maybe he isn’t well-versed in it, but he’s sure this is love. She greets him at the door, follows him into the bathroom, to bed; her small, scruffy body so at home in his arms. Shoko picked an intuitive, precious creature; Thérèse, so persistent and present when he needs her.
Even if, in the end, she was to devour his carcass, he wouldn’t mind. He thinks that can be a kind of love, too.

Summary
No one could know she brought them back. Even powerless (weak), even as non-sorcerers (monkeys), even without the higher-ups, universal law dictates that they would only be used again. And Shoko, a bona fide necromancer? She would never know peace.
She knows, now, that her job was never about saving people. It had always been about fitting for purpose; getting fodder back on its feet for another round in the ring. Shoko was tired. Their revival would be her final act of service, and it would be purely selfish. The only person she told was Okkotsu, who she felt would understand the most. He had been the one to puppet the monster, after all.
So, she signed their death certificates with love and a flourish, and booked the next ferry to Shanghai.
(At the end of all things, in a lighthouse in North Uist, Shoko, Satoru, and Suguru persist.)
