RotJ AU. Eight years ago, Darth Vader encountered Ahsoka Tano on Malachor. Eight years ago, he saw her vanish into thin air, before he could strike the finishing blow. Eight years ago, Darth Vader experienced a vision for the first time since the rise of the Empire: a future without his Master, and Ahsoka by his side.
This one change gives Vader the motivation he needs to break the mental chains binding him to his Master. As a result, Vader kills the Emperor on the Death Star II—and lives to tell the tale.
With most of the Alliance imprisoned and his children firmly in hand, Vader plans to reforge the Empire into the ultimate enforcer of his version of order. He plans to rebuild his family at the same time.
And although he faces homicidal resistance from several factions within the Empire, it’s the latter that will prove to be the greatest challenge.
