“Because to him,” Skyfire replies calmly, “I was more useful alive than dead.”Bumblebee finally realizes that when Skyfire and Starscream stand in the same place, the world ceases to be divided into Autobots and Decepticons. There is only their private reckoning left to be settled.

Making it onto the podium, getting the scholarship reward, that's the only way he'll ever be able to become a scientist instead of a mere interplanetary cargo hauler. And yet, when the judging is finished, it's some overpolished seeker standing up there, not him. And that just cannot be allowed to go unpunished.

You stand there, staring at the ground, trying to not let your fans kick on and trying to process what exactly you just saw before the door opens once more.

"It isn't fair," Starscream’s voice cuts through the otherwise relative peace and quiet of their hab. He throws down a heavily crumpled piece of plastic and slumps dramatically onto the couch next to Skyfire. "Government issued trine matches are for losers that can’t get dates."
Starscream's issued a fresh new pair of trinemates and Skyfire missed his shot. At least, that's what he thinks before he meets them.

The shuttle’s gaze flickered, optics glinting with something Starscream interpreted as interest. He let his digits brush casually against the other’s servo, a deliberate, teasing touch. The mech didn’t pull away.
“Well,” the white mech murmured, voice low and smooth. “It’s not every cycle a seeker with wings like yours deigns to notice me either.”
He leaned slightly closer, letting the tension between their optics sizzles.
Starscream took a slow sip of his cube, deliberately letting his dermas glint against the liquid before licking them clean, his optics catching the other’s blue gaze mid-motion.
“Don’t you want to know my designation?”
The mech asked softly.
Starscream chuckled, tilting his helm with a playful smirk.

Lately, Starscream has been a flustered blushing mess for seemingly no reason at all. It's odd, the way Skyfire's compliments have the seeker stuttering and tongue-tied. Very unlike him.
It takes the poor, sweet shuttle an embarrassingly long amount of time (in his opinion) to realize Starscream has a praise kink.
