Summary
Zorian Kazinski is the third son of a minor merchant house, yet everyone knows that's not quite right. I thought the ending was a little abrupt and didn't resolve enough of the character arcs, so I started imagining how things would develop for some of the more interesting minor characters. One thing led to another and now I've got this fic in my head.

Summary
The Fourth Hokage's body was never found, but they never suspected that was because he hadn't died.
Minato Namikaze wakes up six years after the devastating Kyuubi attack, alone in an overgrown clearing with not a scratch on him. Disoriented and confused, he does exactly what any father would do in this situation. He fights through the pain, gets up, and goes to find his son. He trudges through the pounding in his head and forces himself to move-- to go and find him, because that masked man was still out there, and Minato is willing to do anything to protect his little ball of sunshine.
Needless to say, the blonde kage wasn't expecting so much time to have passed. Nor is he very impressed with the way the village has been treating his son all these years.

One of the children, he’s not sure which, paints a mural on the wall one night. A dark man with dark wings, coins at his feet and daggers in his hands, sketched against the wall. The children sleep peacefully beneath the watchful gaze. They make small statues of a man with wings, carve charms and trade them amongst each other.
“Good luck,” say the younger ones. “Memento Mori,” say the older ones.
Gilmore says nothing.
