Amara is out of balance. The moment she realizes the universe has struck again, this time saddling her with a strange voice, a dangerous parasite, and the knowledge of her participation in what is more of an epidemic than a singular punishment, Amara must fight her immediate urge to simply rewind. This time, she has to admit the prophetic deity intent on claiming her life has finally gotten creative enough.
If she wants to limit the damage these parasites can do to in the future, she will have to guard her life, her intentions, and — from one of her companions — even her heart.
