What if Luz didn't make it out of Belo's mind? What if the memory tweezers were used for more than just hijinks?
This story will explore an alternate universe where Hunter and Luz effectively swap roles after Hollow Mind and what the consequences of that might look like. I'm hoping to alternate between Hunter working with the Owl House gang and the Hexsquad to stop the day of unity, and the consequences of what could happen if Belos managed to capture Luz.

Summary
1920’s Prohibition AU. The reality of the American Dream is in truth a nightmare for impoverished fifteen-year-old immigrant Luz Noceda. Desperate to find better-paying work to support herself and her ailing mother, Luz disguises herself as a boy named Dante to peddle newspapers. Then one day, the world turns on its seam when Luz encounters notorious bootlegger and speakeasy proprietress, Edalyn Clawthorne, aka, the Owl Lady, on the run from the authorities. Eda invites Luz to her underground speakeasy called The Owl House, which functions as an illegal queer nightclub where anyone can belong. Upon convincing Eda to take Luz on as her apprentice, Luz is slowly beckoned into both the glittering prosperity and gristly reality of the Underground, where she’ll be forced to reconcile just how far she’s willing to go in the name of love, family, and belonging. Lumity, Genderqueer!Luz, Eventual Eda/Camila/Raine, Huntlow, transgirl!Willow. Angst with a happy ending.
