Summary
Xiao was never meant for the light.
He has walked through blood and ash for a thousand years and more, carrying the sins of gods not his own: such is the life of the Guardian Yaksha.
Solitude. Penance. Duty. Pain. He tells himself it is enough.
But when a strange traveler arrives like a star flung from the heavens, the shape of his existence begins to shift. Slowly. Reluctantly.
Until, one day, everything breaks.
A story of gods and grief, of light and its cost. Of what it means to fall—and what it takes to keep going.

Summary
Kaidan was a boy raised without roots... and by the Nine if that didn't show. No kin, no purpose... no future to call his own. As a lad, he used to dream tall dreams of adventure and heroism. Of destiny. Of Fate. What a foolish notion that was.
In flight of the shadows of his past, Kaidan finds himself tracing old steps back to his homeland - to Skyrim, and the eternal cold of the North's embrace. He hoped, perhaps, that in uncovering the mysteries of his heritage and strange childhood, he might discover shades of the man he was supposed to be. He might even find a way to redeem himself, and become that man. But he never expected to befriend, of all people, an Imperial mage on the road; he hadn't planned on crossing paths with a lass whose Fate, it turned out, was not her own; he couldn't have guessed at the world of myths and legends she would drag them into - a world rife with dangers and threats on every front. A world in which - despite all the agony and terrors it promised - Kaidan felt he heard within it the elusive cadence of something that might have been... home.

That was where things could change.
That was where he could put things right.*
A series of drabbles detailing Solas' journey from the moment of his awakening to the day the veil ruptured and his plans to retrieve the orb spiraled out of his control.

Summary
This story begins with a nobody.
Seemingly worthless and desperately afraid, a woman finds herself held prisoner by the Thalmor. Her only hope of escape - to trust a swordsman with a past that might be even darker than her own.
The two of them fall headlong into a destiny that will shape, or possibly shatter, the entire world. Sometimes the bravest and kindest people are compassionate not because they're virtuous, but because they've experienced the cruelty of Man and Mer at their worst. With that experience, a mark is left, a need to protect whatever good is left in the world, a need to make sure no one else suffers as they did, a need to destroy anything that might threaten the people they love.
Friends are made. Battles are fought. Dragons, Divines, and Daedra dog every step. The right choices are not always clear as they try to overcome the scars of their pasts, the guilt and regrets that everyone carries, the wolves that hunt us all.
