Summary
“What?” Jeongin prompts, leaning with his palm against the bar counter. “I said Minho hyung’s name, and your face got all red. Do you guys know each other?” he asks, and then— “I got a sense that was the case earlier in the firehouse. He’s not usually so relaxed around new people.”
But Jisung’s mind is stuck on one thing. “My face got all red?” he asks, subconsciously bringing a hand up to his cheek to feel the warmth of his own skin. He does feel a little hot under the collar all of a sudden, but in that moment, he chooses to blame it all on alcohol. Even though all he’s had is maybe three sips of beer.
“It did.” Jeongin grins. “So, what’s the story?”
(For a firefighter with years of experience under his belt, Jisung should probably know just how easy it is to rekindle old flames. Alas.)

Minho and Jisung are each other’s nemesis in the ice rinks, battling with jumps, spins and complicated footwork. Every season, either one of them is on the top of the podium and the other is never far behind, turning every competition into a whole debate on who will win, every ice floor in a gracious and ethereal battlefield.
That is, until shocking news come at the beginning of the season, in the Olympic year, where they were settled to finally resolve their rivalry once and for all: Minho, in spite of everything, retires from competitive figure skating. So, Jisung has to deal with his absence, and the feelings and memories that come with it. -

Summary
How is Jisung even supposed to act? Minho probably has it all figured out. He knew where he was coming, after all. He knew that Jisung would be here. He was able to prepare himself. Jisung was blindsided.
He decides that he’ll do what he’s been doing all this time. Pretend Minho doesn’t exist to the best of his abilities and only interact with him when it’s strictly and professionally necessary.
He wishes they could be friends. He wishes they could go back to where they left off. But it’s been four long years of heartache, and Jisung just—can’t.
Minho doesn’t seem to feel the same way.
(Minho and Jisung signed the divorce papers more than three years ago when Minho packed his life into his suitcases and left—without Jisung. But when he walks through the doors of the Seoul National University Hospital again four years later, they will both be reminded that a signature doesn’t always mean the end.)
