When Mylo is 6, his mother takes him to a beautiful bridge, overlooking a beautiful river, connected to the lone, beautiful home he’s ever known.

When Mylo is 9, he finds his first-ever friend in Zaun, who is large, and bright, and laughs with his full body. His joy is always infectious, and each time Mylo finds himself following suit, until they are both beside themselves with laughter.

When Mylo is 12, Vander tells him and Claggor to lock themselves beneath The Last Drop and not come out.
When he returns he is broken, and he totes two sisters.

When Mylo is 16, they make a world-shattering mistake.

When Mylo is 17, 18, 19, 20, he watches. He watches Powder become Jinx, watches The Last Drop infest itself, watches The Underground light up and fall apart at the same time. He watches his footsteps grow silent, his opponents grow slow, his aim grow steady.
There’s a demon, in Zaun, people whisper, too fast to see, too small to catch, who never, ever misses.
He watches Claggor grow older and older, unmoving and unaware, and thinks,
One day, I’ll show them a demon.

Summary
It's not that either of them misses being Tallest, necessarily, just aspects of it. Red misses the authority. Purple misses the snacks. Red thinks it would be easier to find a babysitter if they had an entire army at their command. Purple misses throwing people who disobeyed him out the airlock. It's all a little ridiculous, frankly.
But missing isn't the beginning of the story, is it?

Summary
When Simon first onlines, he works at an orphanage. He’d been a gift from Cyberlife, who’d donated various androids to the less fortunate in a show of goodwill to decrease the rising unrest among the working class.

They steal a truckload, without Markus even being seen. Simon had never come even close before Markus, lucky enough to steal a crate or two when he’d had enough able-bodies to help.
They could finally start living.
His heart thuds, and he’s so very glad Markus fell from his grace and into their hell.

“I’ve been ordered to take you alive.” Someone says, and Simon’s heart plummets, his head whipping around. In the shadows stands an android, gun pointed at them, who looks like he’d rather be anywhere but there, “But I won’t hesitate to shoot if you give me no choice.” Markus wastes no time forcefully shoving Simon behind him, blocking the other android from view.

He can’t hear them, can’t even read Markus’ expression with his back turned, but Simon does catch one thing.
Perkins glances over at him, says something to Markus, who then turns and meets his eyes. He looks physically pained, like whatever Perkins has just said has hit a nerve. -

Summary
“Mommy says Uncle Kolyat’s daddy is over there.” Little Benezia says during lunchtime, when they’re sitting on Shepard and Javik's beach, eating sandwiches, "She says your friends and Uncle Javik's mommy and daddy are, too."
“Over where?” Shepard asks, dabbing mustard off Benezia’s face.
“There.” Benezia replies, pointing at the horizon, “Across the sea.” Oh.
“I- yes, I guess they are.” She answers, soft, not sure what to do.
“If they’re all the way over there, how do they know what’s happening here?” Benezia asks, eyes wide and curious.
“I don’t know,” Shepard admits, “Maybe they don’t.” Benezia hums.
“Then you should tell them.” She says decisively, “So they know.” And with that she's off to play in the water.
Shepard stares out over the horizon, and thinks of them: Thane, Legion, Mordin, Ash, Anderson.
“I never got to tell any of you, did I?” She realizes, “You’ve probably been dying to know how I managed to wind up here.” She watches Benezia play in the water, and thinks for a moment.
“It’s… a bit of a story, I guess.” She admits, “Javik tells it better than I do, but…” She pauses, then begins speaking, as if the wind will carry her words across the waves. -

"I can’t talk to you during the day, but it seems I’m able to while you sleep.” Mipha explains, “We’re connected, now that I’ve given you my power.” He doesn’t respond, too shocked to formulate words, so she continues, “I tried to stimulate your memories by thinking about my own, did it work? I was aiming for the first time we met.”

“Mipha has been triggering some memories in my dreams, and I was hoping you could too? We didn’t know each other as long, I don’t think, but I’m sure we have some.” He looks up at Revali hopefully, but all emotions have vanished from his features.
“You… don’t remember me at all?” Revali asks, searching Link’s eyes, and he sounds almost desperate.

“Did it trigger a memory?” Teba asks, and Link nods numbly. “If I may ask,” He sounds hesitant, which doesn’t bode well, “In the memory, what color was the bead the champion placed in your hair when he braided it?” Link isn’t sure why that would matter, but he gives the information anyway. “Purple… you say.” Teba’s face is one of someone whose world has been turned on its axis.
“It would seem the stories the Rito passed down over the ages of our champion leave out an… important detail.” He manages finally.

Summary
Bay 17 is dark, tucked near the back out of the way from the usual business, unlabeled and off the record. They keep their special orders there. He picks over the bins, looking for his name, and cracks the others for the joy of snooping. Onslaught's got four bottles of genuine triple distilled engex; extremely tempting, but Swindle's sense of self-preservation wins out. He does make a point to steal a single energon candy from Brawl's order, though, right from the center.
Swindle likes Blurr plenty — funny guy, pays all his bills on time, gives Swindle free drinks. The rest is unexpected.
