Summary
Alex Claremont-Diaz did not have the kind of adult role models that helped him believe in forever love. His parents argued, fought and eventually had to live in different states.
Alex does not want that kind of relationship. He started out wanting a real partnership. He's tried but he’s never been successful at an emotionally intimate relationship. When he feels himself getting too close to someone, he starts looking for a way out. Too often that leads to sex outside of the relationship he’s supposedly in. His parents, coupled with the turmoil of his emotions, and his relationship history have led Alex to the illogical conclusion that he can not be monogamous.
It is with that background that this AU story finds our boys in an open relationship. If you can’t bear to see Alex and Henry that way, scroll on. If you give it a try, know that it works as well as possible until someone breaks the rules. The story takes place over several years. Included at the beginning of each chapter is a reference to let readers know what the timing is for that part of the story. There isn’t a lot of fluff, but I promise a happy ending.
It’s also a story about friends helping friends see what they are otherwise blind to.

David returned to Schitt’s Creek. The two years away had brought significant realizations and he is here to make things right with Patrick. For his part, Patrick knows he has to protect his heart from another devastating loss.
This part to this story has gotten away from me, length wise. It took longer to wrap up different threads than I expected. Some chapters are a bit longer than in Parts 1 and 2.
This story is about two people coming together and finally knowing each other.
This is the last part of the story. It has not been beta read. All errors are mine, all mine. Twists turns and abound!

Welcome to a three part series spanning 12+ years of David and Patrick's relationship.
I've always wondered what would have happened to the Roses if their fortune was recovered. This is my take on that.Music is the thread that runs throughout the piece. It pays homage to the important role music plays in our everyday lives. Every chapter has a song title as its subject. The lyrics to that song provide a little extra view into how the character is feeling or what they are going through.
Angst is another thread that runs throughout the piece. You'll find different types of angst along with anxiety, and panic attacks. You'll also find that love does indeed conquer all.This story is about two people coming together again and finally knowing each other.

Summary
Alex wasn’t made to be the type of person that will cook someone breakfast in the morning. Dancing around with someone he loves in his underwear isn’t something he gets to have. He’s awful at remembering anniversaries and inept at thinking of grand romantic gestures. Candlelit dinners, handmade cards, buying flowers—it’s just not what he’s built for.
And that’s fine.
Alex doesn't need any brave hero to save him, and he sure as hell was never meant to be anyone else's prince charming.

Sure, he’s been going out more, staying out later. Having a lot more sex with a lot more women. That doesn’t mean he needs a fucking babysitter.
The production company disagrees. So now he’s got a sober companion — whatever the fuck that is. Living in his house, following him to the clubs, until the movie wraps.
And the dude is older. He dresses like a librarian, and he hardly even looks up from his book when Alex is getting out of the pool.
None of it makes any sense.
