Summary
A new relationship is an act of bravery and restraint. Wading in as yourself, but still keeping something back, wanting indulgence but needing control.
When Prof. Anthony Crowley and Asa Fell met, it was obviously the universe speaking to, and through, them. It was a chaos corrected, a cosmic breath with a whiff of previous existences, bringing them together. Faraway, ancient souls finding one another, time after time.
And they are so much in love that they almost fail to notice something missing. Almost. Namely, a fire, a challenge, tart flavors, spice... are they two mild-mannered, bookish men just waiting to live a mild-mannered bookish life? Or is there something (oh, say, snarling sarcasm, alcoholism, toxic past romances, self-destruction, insecurity, and more!) hiding beneath the surface?
More importantly, what fucked-up turn of events will it take to drag it all out into the open?

During a dry spell, Crowley complains loudly and insistently to his flatmate (who he’s wanted to fuck as long as he's known him) about how a dildo is nowhere near as satisfying as the real thing, and Aziraphale proposes that they actually put Crowley's theory to the test.
Just two flatmates conducting an experiment where they see if Crowley actually can tell the difference between a sex toy and Aziraphale's cock in the name of science, aka the Real Dick vs Dildo challenge, aka the one where affection starved Crowley has desires and feelings and would pretty much do anything to get Aziraphale inside him at least once.
