Before Hatano can legally confess to Mobu after 3 years, he is faced with the realisation given by Tojo that he is nowhere near Mobu's 'type'. Determined to come back to Mobu as the best version of himself - someone worthy of Mobu - he studies to become as similar to his type as possible.
5 years after Hatano's unfulfilled promise to confess, Mobu has moved on with his life. He is past the age where the most flags sprouted and is learning English in university, and is introduced to a stern teacher, who blushes way to much around him.
Or
Hatano makes Mobu wait longer to confess to so he can become his type in the meantime, and tries his best to seduce him afterwards.

Tim did his best to clear his throat. “I’m fine, just got lost in thought. What did you say your name was again?”
Prettiest Person Ever flushed with embarrassment. Tim would not sign a prenup. He would give this man his bank account information now if he asked.
“Did I not say it earlier?” He looked ashamed for being impolite. Tim couldn’t imagine how red he would get if he heard the impoliteness of his thoughts. “I’m Peter, Peter Parker. Sorry, I was caught up in an equation when you came over.”
Peter Drake had a nice ring to it. Timothy Parker didn’t roll off the tongue as nicely, but they could hyphenate. Tim and Peter Parker-Drake.
