Rozanov concluded the interview with a nod, hefted his bag higher onto his shoulder, and turned to leave. Hayden’s first reaction was to notice that Rozanov had the same type of bag that Shane had brought to the arena by accident. That was then followed by the thought that it was funny that Rozanov’s bag had a worn out spot on the strap like the bag he’d been carrying earlier. And then some more capable portions of his brain informed him of the truth.
Shane had accidentally brought Ilya Fucking Rozanov’s bag to the arena.
Shane asks Hayden for a favor. Hayden comes to some wildly incorrect conclusions.

Summary
Ilya Rozanov was not a weak man, but neither was his beautiful mother. Irina Rozanov was the funniest, kindest, strongest person he knew. Perhaps some would hear the news and remark “like mother, like son”, but in Ilya’s mind he only inherited his mother's struggle. He wasn't funny or kind like she was, to most of the world he was arrogant, cocky, and he had the skill to back it up and it only made him all the more hated by his opponents. Ilya could count on one hand the amount of people that were able to see through that… it was them who he thought about now in his last moments.
Shane Hollander was on the ice when the news broke. Ottawa vs Montreal, the team Ilya was supposed to be joining soon so they'd be closer. That was the plan.
