“Am I in the other world?” Carol asked, knowing the answer.
“I think you’re dead. I can’t remember.” Maria looked away, blinking hard.
“Hey” Carol placed a hand on Maria’s cheek “I’m here. I’m not dead”
Maria nodded, she wiped her cheeks but couldn’t stop the tears.
“I know.” She said “but we don’t feel alive either.”
