Maybe you killed him. Which, you expected to happen. That gurgling sound that came from the speaker surely sounded like Law took a dinner knife to his throat.
You pulled back the phone with a wince. “Did you just…Did you just choke on something?” You asked.
“Yeah, my food,” Law hissed over a croak. Fuck, he sounded angry. “Mind repeating to me what you just said?”
“Listen, it’s just one double date at a Chili’s.”
“A fake double date.”
“Yes,” you laughed in relief, slumping against the toilet. “I’m so glad we’re finally on the same page now.”
