Summary
The original story, written over a decade ago, was a standalone, prompted by a dissatisfaction with how Éomer's banishment was handled in the movies (I know that his banishment was, indeed AU)... One day, I had the image of the son of Èomund in my mind, standing in the snow an éored surrounds him, unsure of their reaction. I thought I could fill 30 pages with that idea... In the end, the story became an epic of 80 chapters and won the 2008 MEFA Awards "Alternate Universe - General".
Yet, since I just finished a prequel to it (A Red Sun Rises), I am currently rewriting all chapters to merge both stories, with a more emphasis on minor characters and OCs, whom I have grown fond of in the course of the previous story.

Summary
Each year, the Midsummer Festival is held just outside the gates of Edoras; a chance for every rider to win glory and honour for his éored. Will Éomer succeed in the big race in his first year among the riders?
Also, I started creating A.I. images for my stories, and I'm excited by the possibilities. You can find my first attempts on Facebook. I`d be really interested to read what you think. Just be aware that the regulations of the A.I. I am using (Midjourney) prohibits using the likeness of real people/ actors, so you will not see the faces you know from the movies. However, I have to say that working on these images really woke my inspiration again. You can find them here:
