Roughly five months after escaping the Island of Dr. Moreau and crippling Neolution from the inside-out, haunted by the traumatic events that transpired during their struggle, Cosima and Delphine discover they still have damage left to undo as PTSD begins taking its toll. Desperate to truly move on with life, Cosima suggests they take a dangerous vacation of sorts, hitchhiking on a freight train and letting it take them into the unknown depths of Northern Canada, where they will be forced to face the memories that haunt them head-on and finally open up to one another completely.

Set in 1957. Delphine, a farm animal veterinarian, meets Cosima, a rancher's daughter. The two spend a summer together in Wyoming's Big Horn mountains, tending to a herd of sheep.
