Summary
If you’d asked Kaeya and Sucrose about what the downsides to dating a genius like Albedo was, they’d both respond in the same way.
“Albedo, eh? They can be rather…”
“Well, that is to say…” they looked at each other, and simultaneously-
“They’re too dramatic.”
Now, Albedo doesn’t seem like the type of person to be overly dramatic, let alone express their emotions at all. However, once you really get to know him, there’s a side that isn’t so easy to ignore. The slightest inconvenience can turn them from content watching a movie on the couch to sobbing on the floor for attention. It’s not that he changes emotions at the drop of a hat, but more that their partners’ tend to poke his buttons more than necessary. Something you wouldn’t expect from Sucrose is that they LOVE watching Albedo lose it in a fit of childish rage. It’s always something so simple, yet so meaningful to poor Albedo.

Dear Sir Kaeya,
I would not normally write to you if it was urgent, but I think this might be a matter you wish to keep private. Mr. Albedo has been finding any excuse to work with pyro in his alchemy recently, and it had slipped from him that you had agreed to… let’s say exhaust his pyromaniac urges. I am writing to you to humbly request you think about doing this soon, as I’m not sure how much more the lab can take.

Summary
Albedo would like to blame two things for the current situation he found himself in.
Firstly, his overwhelming fondness for Aether overshadowed his ability to fully understand everything that was said that night.
Secondly, his inclination to stay in his room and read in his personal library or research in his new secluded study resulted in him not being fully aware of every change in the house.
This is what led to him getting caught completely off-guard—staring wide-eyed at the Calvary Captain standing in the kitchen at 3 in the morning, returning an equally baffled stare.
OR
Albedo and Kaeya become roommates in Aether’s teapot and take the opportunity to get to know each other a little bit better :)

When Sucrose, Albedo, and Lisa begin clinical, controlled trials on a potential love potion, they're delighted to find that it works just as expected. Until, of course, they administer the potion to Kaeya.
Albedo needs to know why there is an outlier in the data, and why Kaeya is the only person wholly unaffected by the potion.
Perhaps being in love just isn't in their nature.
