    Summary

Nahyuta is drowning again. His father is on the chopping block, Apollo wants to join him, and if Nahyuta doesn't win this case… "I speak to you now as a servant of the Holy Mother, Mr. Justice. Do not defend this man tomorrow. He is surely guilty. Her Holiness does not favor the self-flagellating; do not bring death upon yourself for a misplaced sense of duty."

"I don't care. It doesn't matter; I'm defending him. You cannot change my mind."

"You would put your own father to death?" Miles Edgeworth asks, expression aghast behind his glasses. Nahyuta wants to say he wouldn't, that he's sorry, that he doesn't want to, and please, Chief Prosecutor, don't you understand this feeling? Don't you all have Trucy Wright to consider? Don't you know this?

The small sliver of the sarcophagus that's open shows that pendant in all its bright blue glory, clasped in the waxy hand of a man Nahyuta saw breathing not three hours ago.

“What are we?” Sanji asks, tone soft and slight.

    “We’re pirates.”

The simplicity of that answer doesn’t sit well with Sanji, who visibly shifts under Zoro’s grip. “I mean to each other.”

Zoro can't tell Sanji what he means to him.

    Summary

Malik's life sucked and it had ever since he spit on that fairy as a child. He had to learn to live with the fact that when someone caught sight of his skin they will do anything imaginable to try to court him from serenading at his window, to giving him gifts, to over the top declarations of how his eyes sparkled like gems. He had adjusted his dreams away from anything normal (dating someone, having a job, or even not dying of heat stroke) to more reasonable dreams like ‘not having any part of his naked skin be seen’, ‘not getting lectured by the townspeople about another newcomer getting accidentally caught up in his curse’, or ‘an inordinately cloudy, cold summer’.

Then some thief with artistic tendencies interrupted his life with his aggravatingly reasonable objections to Malik’s complacency to the curse he was living with.
