Summary
There was no Haurchefant, with his happy, welcoming smile, his words of comfort whenever she came to him, anymore. No more hot chocolate, spiced with a hint of rum to warm her up. No stories by the hearth, his raucous laughter as she told him of her latest escapade, the look of disappointment in his face when he knew she could do better and had chosen not to. No more warm meals in the midst of the frozen Highlands, no more words of encouragement or unwavering support. She would never feel his love and affection, pure and simple in their earnestness, again.
He was gone. Gone, gone, gone, gone, gone.
Haurchefant was dead.
