columbina hyposelenia is spectacularly, embarrassingly, completely bad at no strings attached.
sandrone guillotin is even worse at admitting that maybe, possibly, she does not actually want no strings attached either.
six months of this. of almost. of hands reaching and pulling back. of closed doors and warm mornings and kisses that say everything neither of them has figured out how to say out loud yet. of columbina looking at her like she hung something and sandrone looking away before she has to decide what to do about it.
the deal made sense. the deal was clean. the deal did not account for tuna sandwiches remembered without asking, or 1x1 photos kept in ID holders, or being walked to practice like a pretty princess by someone with embarrassingly red ears.
something has to give eventually.

Sandrone prefers silence, and the empty seat beside her. It is a space no one in class ever sits in.
Then a new student transfers in.
Soft-spoken. Calm.
And unexpectedly… blind — walking with a white cane and quiet confidence straight toward the empty seat beside Sandrone, throwing her completely off-guard.
The new student isn’t fragile.
She isn’t helpless.

Summary
On her way home after school, Sandrone runs into a strange girl wandering beneath the winter rain, dressed in nothing but her nightgown, singing to herself.
It turns out to be the start of a very unlikely relationship.[“Right, I won’t make you go home if you don’t want to,” Sandrone grumbles, shivering. “But you are coming with me before you succumb to hypothermia.”
The girl blinks, bemused.
“Is this… kidnapping?”
“Hah?!” Sandrone exclaims, “Why would anyone want to kidnap you?”
The girl opens her mouth as if to answer, and Sandrone quickly cuts her off.
“Don’t say anything. Come with me, stay out here and freeze, it doesn’t matter to me either way. Do whatever you like.”
With that, she turns on her heel and walks away, stuffing her hands into her skirt pockets in an attempt to keep them warm. The girl stares at her with wide eyes, her mouth open but no words coming out, one small, pale hand clutching the front of Sandrone’s coat.
A few moments later, she is back under Sandrone’s umbrella, humming another song to herself as she links their arms together.
Flinching, she hisses, “What do you think you’re doing?”

Summary
There are- so many reasons why Yao Guang should say no. Evanescia is going into heat. She could need something and Yao Guang will surely fall asleep, or maybe she won’t, she’ll barely rest at all because the sole idea of sharing bed with Evanescia, warm and comfortable and unguarded, makes her heart throb in her throat and her ribs close off around her lungs.
“I want you to sleep comfortably,” she finds herself saying, which is not what she should say.
OR; Yao Guang can’t quite figure out why Evanescia would ask for her help through her heat, but she is not about to abandon her friend, even less one whose heart has picked to long for, through her time of need!
