Summary
Being hit by a Blood Demon Art is part of the job description, especially if it happens to a Hashira like Rengoku Kyojuro. Kill the demon, end the curse. Easy-peasy, right?
Except that it didn't quite work out like that this time.
Kyojuro finds his troubles quite literally doubled, and the Corps find themselves with two Flame Hashira instead of one.
If he thinks the reactions from his fellow slayers are bad, Akaza's is a thousand times worse.
Or: Akaza learns to enjoy the chaos of having two Kyojuros to himself in all ways possible.

Summary
Without understanding how, Akaza found himself facing the most unexpected outcome: Kyojuro had survived their battle. But Kyojuro was human, and humans… are fragile. Perhaps Kyojuro would never regain his strength, but even the strongest human needed time to recover, and Akaza decided to bet on that, letting Kyojuro live in the hopes of finally convincing him to become a demon and fight together for eternity.
On the other hand, Kyojuro believed it was his end, but the rabbit hole went even deeper. After waking from months in a coma, his physical condition was no longer the same, and he knew better than anyone that he might never again have the strength to properly fulfill his duty. As if adapting to all those changes weren’t enough, he now found himself haunted by Akaza’s constant presence.

Rengoku Kyojuro, looking back now, figured no one could have expected this. He supposes this is what his mother meant by life being an unpredictable, beautiful river—one that threatnes to drown you.
And, my goodness, does this demon make the very careful life he built crumble.
