Summary
For Hayden, the Olympic medal comes with an unwelcome caveat - a lost bet that will bring him (and his too eager teammates) to a night of partying in Boston. An already ominous prospect, before he even realises how hard it will be to survive the night and help Shane keep his secrets intact. Which, as the alcohol flows, is getting harder and harder.

Summary
The night after the MLH draft, after a late-night gym session, Shane Hollander is forced to face the feelings his rival's presence awakens. Knowing he will not allow anything to come between him and hockey, he pushes the shameful urges deep down, committing harder than ever to the game and his girlfriend. Choosing the game above everything. Even himself.
Eight years later, Ilya Rozanov, once Shane's biggest rival, now a washed out player battling his own demons, is traded to Montreal. As much as Shane wishes it didn't mean anything to him, he realises he might still be stuck back in the hotel room, trying very hard not to think of Rozanov in the shower. The walls of the closet he's built for himself over the year begin closing in.OR
If you want to imagine with me how the story would go if Shane was, in fact, a chicken, and ran before the relationship could ever even begin. If Ilya was all alone, struggling with his depression. Just two miserable boys, colliding and taking everything with them in their destruction, so that they can rebuilt from the ruins.

Summary
When Shane first saw the "plank until failure” videos, he wrote it off as a stupid trend. But then Ilya Rozanov posted one, showing his sweating face as he leaned over the camera, giving a point of view that should frankly be considered explicit. His stupid fucking cross necklace hung in front of the camera, swaying slightly in its suspended state.
Shane immediately felt his blood run hot. Which is only natural, because he's extremely competitive. No other reason whatsoever would make him feel flushed and slightly overwhelmed.
Ilya planked for five minutes? That's fine, Shane can and will do longer. Easy work.
or, Shane and Ilya run fitness influencer accounts, and they both participate in the plank until failure trend.

He hastily clicked open the folder, his eyes barely glancing through the dozen or so shots there, vaguely registering a picture with a sunset background from his condo balcony, something of him laughing, a picture of him working at his laptop with his glasses on...
The director called him again, and he shook his head, the photos blurring. Whatever. It would have to do.
He clicked "select all," then the messages icon, then Rozanov's name. Hit send.

Summary
When Yuna accidentally interrupts Shane and Ilya sharing an intimate moment, Ilya is completely willing to play the bad guy to control the situation. Even though he wants for the approval of Shane's parents, he will sacrifice it to establish clearly-needed boundaries. As if Shane would let him take this on alone.
Meanwhile, Yuna does not entirely realize what she had stepped into, and she is left upset and defensive. David is horrified that his wife has apparently not been heeding his many (many) warnings to text ahead of time.
One day Ilya may be the favorite son, and Shane can watch fondly as he solves puzzles and eats ice cream at his parents' house. It just takes some time and work and adjustment to get there.
