The car he was in belonged to Yosano, his roommate, and sometimes she took him to places when he asked nicely, which he did since he didn't have a license or a car. Even though she accepted his request this time, it was easy to tell that she was not believing his good intentions at all. She was taking him to a church because he volunteered to help with a charity action that happened every Sunday. Dazai snorts. "That's absurd."
"Is it? You're more of a dog than I am."
That makes Dazai stiffen, words dying on his tongue. He scrambles, all his eloquence drying up, leaving him to sputter, "That's- No."
