ON TEMPORARY HIATUS
The extermination is over - for now. The new and old residents of the hotel are safe for a little longer, but nothing has changed for Angel. He’s still under contract to Valentino, and the mental and physical abuse is getting worse the more he tries to better himself. He can’t bring himself to tell his friends how bad it actually is - and he’s not sure how much longer he can last.
Alastor has been silently recovering from the wound inflicted by Adam, keeping to the shadows as he watches over the hotel residents. Even as cold-hearted as he is, the Radio Demon has noticed what others have not – that he’s not the only one that uses a smile to hide his pain.
And Husk is struggling with the fact that he even though he might be open to love and be loved again; it shouldn't be for Angel, who needs a friend right now more than anything else Husk wants to offer.
An unlikely friendship starts up the night that Angel comes across Alastor trying to keep himself together from splitting apart – literally - and only continues to grow.

Soft winds of lies and death will inevitably fall upon the soft but terse wars of conquest waged by bloodthirsty peoples under their corrupt leaders. But, of course, deception is always the ruler. And no matter the person, or status, in whatever circle, one will be, are, have been, are subjected to it in some form or another. Because, Everyone lies. "Lies are everywhere. But, the most commonly spoken ones are within oneself."
Husk is a victim of war. For years he told himself he was doing what he needed. Between long nights drinking his liver to the point of near failure and endless gambling, it's not a surprise that his vices and sins catch up, sending him into hell. Which is a whole new form of torture, as his failures have led him to a contract with the Radio Demon. The Shitty Demon is currently bleeding out on his floor. Husk doesn’t care. He hopes the Fucker dies. He says as much as he does his best to save the other.
Alastor doesn’t need any help. He is completely fine. He has always been fine. Even as the noose tightens on his thin neck.

Wonderful Alastor characterization and brilliant character-building for Husk. Vietnam vet is an interesting but completely believable background and would explain a lot. Field medic is just brilliant character work.

There is an Imperial outpost in Mos Eisley. Not a big one, but big enough. There are seven Stormtroopers stationed there. One of them is a clone. He used to be something else, someone else, but that's been gone a long time.
Out in the desert, there is a cemetery. By the cemetery, there lives a hermit. He might be alive, but he doesn't always feel that way. He knows he was a Jedi, but he hardly remembers believing it.
When the body comes out of the sands, when the clone finds the weapon it carries, things start changing.

Beautiful Cody characterization and way of writing the chip and how to get around it. Amazing development of Tatooine slave culture and showcasing of humanity in the Empire while painting the Empire as evil. Genuinely fantastic fic.
