Oh, he was definitely going to regret it. He felt himself internally shrivel the second it slipped out. He wanted to bury his head into the floor like an ostrich, honestly.
His eyes squeezed shut, bracing for whatever reaction was coming his way. Maybe Eito would launch at him and strangle him on the spot, or bash his skull into the floor until he stopped moving.
But when he opened them...
The sight before him had completely stopped him from feeling even an ounce of regret.
Because Eito had turned an entirely new shade of red. One Takumi had never seen on anyone before.

He still doesn't know what Takumi saw, then. A suspicious line of cover? Someone shifting in the shadows? Or, maybe, he saw the glint of the rifle itself, sunlight flashing off its barrel. In the end, it didn't matter: Takumi saw something, even if Eito didn't know it at the time.
What he did know was Takumi's shoulder, ramming into his side.
Then: the bang.

Dead silence for a solid five seconds—Eito counted. It felt a lot longer, though.
“E-Excuse me?!”
He had been expecting a response like that.
Before Eito could gather his thoughts and explain himself, Takumi’s headache-inducing voice pierced him again, audibly flustered even through all the harshness. “You know what? No. Don’t answer that. I don’t even want to know. I’m not dealing with you right now.”
Unfortunately for him, Eito wasn’t content to let the conversation end there.
Wanting to truly see Takumi for the first time, Eito decided that—in absence of his eyes—he would just have to use his hands.

Eito realized something. Yes, he hated how alphas were trying to court Takumi.
Not because he cared. But because Takumi’s own scent was—tolerable. One of the few that didn’t make him want to vomit into the nearest garbage can. But if Takumi smelled like half the school’s alpha population, then as his singing partner, Eito would be the one dealing with it.
That was unacceptable.
