Fannish spaces have an established etiquette. Here, we deconstruct comments and behavior that break the social contract of fannish etiquette and demonstrate how to respond to lazy and uninspired ad hominem attacks.
Further examples have been graciously provided in the comments section by the fannish community. Thanks, comrades!

Summary
Do you love Rogue One but absolutely loathe some of Tony Gilroy's ANDOR writing choices for women, the single (1) queer couple in live-action Star Wars, and characters of color?
Like Klexa-ing Cinta?
Or yeeting Jezzi Andor from the story?
Or Wil getting radicalized not by shared trauma or common cause with Saw but the two of them getting fucked up on rhydo together?
Or Maarva being a white savior?
Or Bix's entire story arc starting from 2.7 to THAT finale?
Or Tony Gilroy's self-insert white savior who overshadowed Cassian in his own show to the point Cassian didn't even appear in episode 2.10?
You're not alone!

Summary
Survival is an artform.
Armand has been an unwilling student, an eager acolyte, a master of the craft. The things he feels can be broken down into component parts. Can be simplified into anatomic essentials, the series of processes required to make him something that functionally resembles the likeness of man. Sensation without thought. Water-damp brushstrokes dragging across a canvas with no paint. No color. No light.
Leaving Dubai was an act of necessity, arriving anywhere else an act of apathy.
In which Daniel attempts to make sense of the past and Armand attempts to do whatever the opposite of that is.

Summary
Daniel sees life like a river. Thinks he is caught up in a current that only goes one way, that will eventually sweep him out to sea. It’s easier for him to think so. It keeps him alive to think so.
He doesn’t know that he could stand up and reach the bottom. He doesn’t know he has a choice.
Drugs don’t work, sex doesn’t work, New York hasn’t worked. Somewhere in the Appalachian Mountains, an improbable number of suicides have taken place. Somewhere in a bar in New York, Daniel hears about them. He wants to fill a void. The difference between what is real and what isn’t matters as little to him as the things he’ll find to throw into the darkness. Which, as it turns out, is quite a lot.
