    “How do you drink your tea?”

    It was a simple question that shouldn’t startle her. He used to make tea for her every morning. But that had been a long, long time ago. She followed him into the kitchen, lingering in the doorway.

    “Same as always.”

    Tuomas nodded.

    He picked a herbal tea, putting the bags in two mugs before setting them on the table. She expected him to turn around and head towards the fridge then. Tuomas always added a bit of milk because he was too impatient to wait for the brew to cool down on its own. But he didn’t open the fridge, he just sat down, tea steaming in front of him, waiting in silence. It twisted her stomach a little.

    Some things did change, after all.
