Driven by fury and other human emotions he isn’t used to, Caine does something drastic to give him some peace of mind - he removes Zooble from the circus. HIS circus.
The rest of the gang wouldn’t suspect it was his doing. They’d all just think that the poor mismatch abstracted naturally like the others. There would be some sorrows, they’d move on, and He’ll feel much better without their complaining and negativity around.

A mysterious, stubborn virus infiltrates Caine's systems, forcing him to utilize some rather desperate measures in a reckless attempt to keep the circus, and himself, online. He attempts to fix it, ends up somewhat successful, and pretends like everything is fine as a result. See? He's not dying! He can handle this just fine on his own. He didn't need Kinger, or anyone for that matter, rummaging around in his delicate code.
That is, until he wakes up one day covered in digital blood, surrounded by the mutilated bodies of his favorite humans.
