Summary
They lost their sanity; so much that reason wouldn't fix them. Kojiro fought with everything he had, and he'd lose to them, too powerless to stop his crew from destroying themselves. The last thing Kojiro witnessed was the siren floating up to the rocks.
He had been stabbed, succumbing to his injuries where he collapsed against a boulder. He let go of his sword, eyes fluttered shut.
The siren crawled up to him. Kojiro made sight of its pretty pink scales decorating its fin. It's shiny, like diamonds. They looked like the kind of jewels sirens possessed that pirates would remove to show off as prize possessions. A rare finding to remind them of a journey they once embarked on.
Not a single scar touched the creature's body.
Kojiro was no more of a fool than his dead partners surrounding him. Their blood bathed the forest, seeping into the river of the siren's home.
In which Kojiro, a fearsome pirate of the high seas with nothing to lose, embarks on a deadly journey to capture a siren's gold; but the siren captures his heart instead.

Summary
What if Manon had soundly broken up with Rody and didn't rebound with Vince?
Would interest have begun to develop between the two organically rather than Rody forcing himself through work for Manon while Vincent's interest in him was tempered by his desire to learn the secret to reacquiring taste?
Without the dark undercurrents and maybe with a little bit of empathy, could things be different for them? Vincent had his sweet moments afterall. And Rody could be kinder and more curious when Manon wasn't involved.
Maybe a solid foundation could have made all the difference for these two.
-This story will contain light violence and swearing as Vincent is a bit of a jerk at times, but the goal is to make a fluffy story. These two deserve it. Will contain NSFW content, just be aware that I intend for this to be a slow-ish burn just because I don't want to rush it. I'm basing the characters off of their in game info as well as info Rachel has given us over time outside of the game. Due to irl stuff, updates may be off and on but the plan is to update atleast once a week! I hope you enjoy the story-- Language:

The room is too bright.
It’s quaint, in a nauseating sort of way. Polished floors glint from the gleaming honeycomb chandeliers overhead, make him squint. A few vases sprinkled here and there, filling the room with a sickeningly sweet scent – even a waffle-cone headrest framing the silken sheets of a neatly-tucked bed. Outside, the golden sun gleams, the gentle rays of light spilling past curtains that waver in the afternoon breeze.
