    Simon gave Jack his diary after he found it, and after the rehearsal Jack gives Simon his choir tog in exchange—to which Simon uses as a pillow for his dorm bed.

    Jack hates himself for his wrongfulness. Nobody taught him to be like this, why is he so different from everyone?

    He tortures himself because he deserves it.

    And even if Simon feels the same, Jack cannot see anything wrong with him. He tries to be gentle to Simon, when he can and no one is around, because Simon doesn't deserve even one bit of this hell.
    He deserves all the right things in the world - happiness, love and someone, who is not Jack. Simply because Jack is not right.
