Summary
“See somethin’ you like, angel?” he drawled, new shirt left hanging open on his broad shoulders.
“Arthur-”
“Mister Smith, I mean to say,” Arthur corrected himself, palms up and out in surrender as he continued chuckling like the evil, bad, evil man he was. Charles let himself get close enough for a quick slap to Arthur’s arm with the back of his hand.
“I’ve told you-”
“Not in camp, I know, I know,” Arthur defended, his smile falling to something more serious as he took a moment to look at Charles properly, eye-to-eye. “I’m sorry, just hard sometimes when I’ve been gone and you look so…”
“So?” Charles asked, arms crossed on his chest and doing his best to look fed up with Arthur, regardless of how far it felt from the truth.
“Sorry, I can’t tell you in camp. Against the rules,” he said mockingly, his cocky grin returning.

What if Charles never joined the Van der Linde gang? What if Arthur lived?
Bounty Hunter (sort of): Charles Smith
Wanted: Arthur Morgan::::::::::::::::
Been three years since Arthur Morgan was left for dead on the side of a mountain. Having dedicated his life to the man who left him there, it didn’t hardly seem worth fighting to get off it. Thought someone, surely someone, would come back for him. So he waited, weary fingers dug deep into the dirt to ground him, eyes on the sunset, waiting for someone to come for him, to take him down the mountain, or bury him someplace. But nobody came.

Summary
It's been weeks since Arthur escaped the O'Driscolls, but he still can't sleep. Not without Charles nearby. Charles is going crazy. He can't bear being in love with his friend. Not when Arthur is in so plainly in love with this Mary woman. The confession could ruin their friendship. Or maybe not...
“You’re leaving?”
Takes a moment for Charles to look up from fiddling needlessly with Taima’s reins. To face Arthur. And speak. “Yeah.”
“You can’t.”
“Arthur.” He says it with a sigh. “You knew I was gonna leave eventually.”
“But I—” I need you, he almost says. “I thought you was taking me with you.”
Charles looks at him so fondly. “I can’t—"
“Was you gonna say goodbye at least?” Arthur knows he sounds more wounded than angry. And he supposes he is.Bookmarked by LostLibraryCard

Summary
Arthur watched Ennis and Old Boy disappear into the night with their riders in tow. They headed in opposite directions, intent on keeping away from camp a bit longer before they returned to Horseshoe Overlook. 'We should all go it alone right now,' he had said, but he could feel Charles’ stare on him and, when he turned Galahad off the road, he heard Taima following.
He didn't think he was being too presumptuous, and he only had to wait until they broke the treeline for Charles to prove him right. The other man said one word, “Arthur,” and it was all the prompting he needed to pull Galahad to a stop and drop from his saddle.
Instantly, Charles was at his chest, pushing him back, back, and into the trunk of a tree. The horses snorted their offense at their riders’ antics but Arthur barely registered the sound. Charles’ knee was already nudging his thighs apart, his grip on Arthur’s shirt pressing the collar hard against his neck and leaving him gasping.
Charles and Arthur take a little time for themselves following the Pouring-Forth-Oil train robbery.
