    Shane slips through his front door and back into his quiet apartment. He leans back against the door and takes a steadying breath in his dark apartment. After a moment, the music next door turns off and Shane is left with only the pounding of his own heartbeat in his ears. 

    He closes his eyes and tries not to think about Rozanov or the way Shane’s entire body lit up like a live wire when he said in that low, accented voice, only if you ask nicely. He’s hard in his penguin print pajama pants and now he’s going to have to jerk off and shower before he can sleep. While trying not to think about his asshole neighbor.

    This is bad. This is very bad.

    Shane groans. He can picture Ilya’s knowing little smirk, his chiseled face awash in his phone’s glow. As far as Shane knows, the buses don’t have beds, so Ilya’s sitting in a seat. Surrounded by their teammates.

    You might get caught, Shane argues feebly.

    like i give a fuck? comes the inevitable reply. i havent kissed you in a week. i am dying hollander ok. dying. can you live with that? knowing i died because you did not want to sext your husband?

    Beside himself, Shane smiles while he types. Yes.

    Or: Shane is sick and Ilya misses him. It goes about how you'd expect.

    When Shane was displeased with Ilya, there was a certain intensity in his speech that called to Ilya like a siren song, dragging him to an early grave with its vehemence. His voice would pitch higher, bossy and prissy and so stridently righteous it should be intolerable.

    But Ilya was, for all intents and purposes, a whore. And nothing made him harder than his husband putting him in his place.
