Summary
Dean didn't think Sam would take it seriously when he had said they should pick a hemisphere and stay away from each other. After nine months of searching he has finally found his brother, but he was just a shell of the man he once was, separating himself from the rest of the world in a self-made prison of solitude. Dean has no idea how to put him back together again.
Sam knew he was a disease that destroyed everything around him. He has spent a long time trying to convince himself otherwise, but now after starting the apocalypse, Dean kicking him out of his life, and a few weeks of extreme torture by a group of hunters, he has finally accepted who he is. He gets as far away from humanity as he possibly can with plans to live out the rest of his unworthy existence in isolation. The world would be better off without him.
Dean disagrees.

"Dean expected Sam to find a way to cope after he was dragged to Hell. He thought Sam would go back to Stanford, or maybe stick with Bobby and keep living up to the Winchester name. By no means did he think Sam might look to parenting as a coping mechanism."
The Apocalypse is on, and the Winchesters are running from angels and demons alike. They're going to do everything they can to keep themselves from being used as vessels, but hiding from the forces of Heaven and Hell isn't easy. Not to mention, they're hiding from the forces of Heaven and Hell while trying to raise a twelve-year-old boy in a somewhat normal environment.
Who are they kidding? They're Winchesters. Normal was never an option.

Summary
Hotels are usually where the Winchesters can find respite. Not these hotels. Case-fics where the Winchesters find themselves in danger, deceit, and death. They'll have to unravel the mystery of the hotel if they want to get through it alive. Fortunately, the Winchesters are bad-asses, and they have the most powerful weapon they could ask for: each other.
