Summary
The most confusing part was that Coach Darnell looked like a normal adult, almost like Grant’s dad, but leaner and taller and darker in complexion. He wore the same ball cap and the same silver whistle around his neck.
Only then did Grant really take note of the wedding band on his left hand, glinting silver in the sun. Grant squinted into its bright light.

Summary
Lark had seen him as a wolf before, and he had seen him lounge around the house as a wolf before. This shouldn’t be weird. Sparrow was allowed to have a coping mechanism that didn’t involve his brother, and that was a waste of important resources, and that involved trying to lose himself-
Lark started scratching at the base of his neck, somehow finding that perfect spot without even trying, and Sparrow’s tail started thumping against the ground. He leaned into the touch, moving on instinct as he pressed into his twin’s hands, and a smile flickered across Lark’s face.
.
Sparrow found it reassuring to exist as a wolf for a little bit. It was nice to pad around on all fours and get treated like a dog by his father. He didn't like having to do it without his brother, though.

Summary
“I don’t… Lark, I can’t wear a dress to prom. People will laugh at me again.”
Sparrow ignored the way that their father deflated at that, something tired and concerned settling across his face. Lark just seemed pissed, putting both of his hands onto the dresses and pushing them back into Sparrow’s chest.
“I wouldn’t let them,” Lark replied, a promise clear in his voice. Their father looked both reassured and more stressed. “You like looking beautiful. Can we not match with a suit and dress? It’s not as if you have a girlfriend to match with instead. You would look prettier than her anyways.”
“At least try them on, little bird,” Father added and at the childhood pet name, Sparrow crumbled. “If you don’t like them, we’ll go with the suit.”
“Alright.”

Sparrow liked being a boy, a man, whichever he was at seventeen. He just didn't like the thought of being handsome. That didn't make much sense, though, even if his brother and his father loved him enough to steamroll him over on the matter.

Summary
“I’ve been doing extensive research. I need your help.”
“Research?” She asked. She’d been in the house nearly half an hour and was no closer to an actual reason that she’d been dragged out of her house, or how it would count as urgent.
“Sex research. I need a willing participant. And failing that, you.”
Scary was pretty sure that, if she were to kill him, no one would miss him.
“Your ‘emergency, get here now’ message was a booty call?!”
“Well, yeah… Was that not clear?”
“Absolutely- fucking- not. If you’d said that, I’d have stayed home.”Series
