“We always knew you’d come back to us, Ezra. However long it took.” Hera squeezed his shoulder, marveling at how grown-up he’d become. “We never gave up on you.”
She’d never tire of being able to touch him, of knowing that he was real and returned to her. Even with Sabine and Ahsoka missing, having Ezra back felt as wondrous as when she’d first held Jacen in her arms.
Ezra slid his hand over hers, his fingers rough but gentle. “I know you did.”
The Ghost family has been separated for twelve years. Ezra and Hera won't wait another day.

There would be a return home, for all of them.
And it’s almost as soon as Ezra gets his feet back on solid ground that he’s seeing the aftermath rushing up to face him.
Will it be enough to just live for a little bit? With the sick feeling of something missing gnawing at him, Ezra isn’t sure. He isn’t sure if he’s even really here. If he isn’t already dead.
There would be time.
And there would be time to cope.
But Ezra isn’t sure there’ll ever be enough time for that.

Ezra once again forgot how to breathe. It was becoming a bad habit he had to deal with later, but at that moment he stood under the familiar hull of Ghost, and it felt like ship was welcoming him too, covering him, like a big animal. And Ezra stood there, watching with his widely opened eyes, as familiar figure, half-relieved, half-furious, was fastly walking towards Sabine.
