After her kidnapping in Seattle, Reenie tells herself she’s fine. She goes to work. She keeps moving. She does what she has to do. But fear like that settles deep, and her body remembers.

Ronan Lynch should not have picked up his phone. In hindsight, he should have turned it off the night before. He wouldn't need it. Not for a while. On the first morning of a month-long experiment in domesticity, his to-do list included more important tasks. Mostly staying in bed with his husband and sliding his hand down the front of Adam's pajama pants when he showed signs of waking. Once those activities ended, a leisurely morning would follow.

As a trial run in domesticity, they rent a house in Massachusetts for a month, but their plans are put on hold before they even begin.
