Summary
There is a new man in Verso’s life. One that has everyone suspicions up. Verso has always known how to endure. Pain, fear, hunger, and exhaustion none of it matters if he can keep moving, keep smiling, keep pretending he is fine. But Gustave sees the truth beneath every joke and every flinch, and he refuses to let Verso drown. Surrounded by people who care more than he knows what to do with, Verso must learn that survival is not the same as living, and being loved is not something he has to earn.

After Maelle's victory, Gustave is struggling to adjust. If it weren't so damn pathetic, it might even be funny: the broken engineer, unable to fix himself. But with Lumière in ruins, there is no time for self-pity. His people need him, and he won't let them down.
Never again.
Now if only Verso bloody Dessendre would stop accidentally falling asleep on his furniture…

Summary
Verso wears many masks. For each person in his life, he finds exactly what they need him to be and becomes that just for them. He never expected to have difficulty finding the perfect mask for Gustave. No more than he ever expected Gustave to be able to see right through to the heart of him.

Summary
The Paintress is gone; the Curator left. In the aftermath of Lumiere’s battle, Maelle and Verso find a middle ground and promise to give each other closure without harming any more innocents : he will try living a mortal life and she will leave the Canvas.
Maelle helps her late brother’s soul to fix the Fracture's damages and brings people back, giving this world a second chance. She spends her last painted days making the most of Verso’s presence and Gustave’s return, trying to bring them closer with few success. After her departure, both men struggle to settle back in the city and when Verso blurts out the idea of Gustave accompanying him to the Continent, the engineer doesn't take long to accept: after all, he missed a lot of things there, definitely needs a guide... and time away from Lumière.

Summary
Something that people often forget to mention about happy endings is that they're hard work in themselves. Maelle and Verso might not have faced off to decide the fate of the canvas, but that doesn't magically solve all of their problems. Within a restored Lumière and beyond, everyone who was part of Expedition 33's journey tries to figure out what kind of future they can imagine for themselves now that the conflict that had once dominated their existences is over, even though that doesn't mean all conflict is gone. That ends up coming with its own set of twists and turns though, with relationships growing and developing in unexpected ways as the days go by.
A good ending fic where happiness doesn't come easy, and people have to learn to finally speak their full truth if they want any real hope of healing.
