Summary
The U.S.S. Enterprise has set off on its virgin journey into deep space, with the hugely lauded command team of S'chn T'gai Spock and James T. Kirk at the helm. Starfleet has high hopes for the Enterprise and its crew, believing it will become the shining beacon of light that will pave the way for future space travel.
It's just a shame Spock holds such intense dislike for his captain.

“It’s really no big deal,” Jim says as the door slides closed behind them. “I just need you to come down to Hearth with us…as my husband.”
The Enterprise has been sent to negotiate reaccession to the Federation with an isolationist religious group known as the Kindred. While there, Jim notices that some of the children seem to be gravely ill. The problem is, the Kindred practice faith healing and refuse to allow a doctor to be brought in. So Jim does what he does best: he improvises.

Summary
When Jim gets Spock to sign on as his first officer, the last thing he expects is to be handed a classified medical dispensation form. Because Spock’s going to be sick, and he knows it, and the only solution will be to haul ass back to New Vulcan. Desperate for details, Jim concocts a plan.
