Instead it comes off condescending. “Will’s allowed to have more than one friend, you know?” Robin replies, and Mike cannot believe her right now. Seriously, she comes in here out of nowhere and thinks she knows Will better than Mike? “I never said he couldn’t.” Mike shoots back. “Plus, are you guys seriously just friends?” Mike says, his eyes narrowing. And again, Robin's eyebrows shoot up. “Very much so, just friends. Like, the emphasis on very is almost comical-” Robin laughs nervously and quickly shuts herself up. “But, why would it matter so much?” Robin continues, a different look in her eye. “It doesn’t matter.” Mike says. “I was just asking.” Any and all forms of tears that might’ve been on Mike’s face are gone now, because he's strictly just annoyed. “Look, I promise you we’re just friends. Sometimes… you just need someone to go to for other things. He’s still your best friend, Wheeler.”
