Two different outcomes from chapter 427:
The thunder groans menacingly outside, the heavy rain not easing up even for a moment – hitting the window with such force it's a miracle it doesn't break the glass. But it's okay because they're here – under this roof together, on the same, comfortable mattress and He Tian can feel Guan Shan's warmth even though they don't touch except for their intertwined legs.

"...He Tian?", he asks quietly, a hint of uncertainty swinging in his voice.
He Tian swallows hard and closes his eyes, leaning down, hiding his face in the crook of Guanshan's neck while his right hand slips between their bodies.

Summary
Guan Shan wouldn’t admit it but he was nervous. Not about He Tian or what this meant between them, but the pressure of the needle against his ear. He wanted this moment to be special, to be about him and He Tian but the memories of how his last piercing had gone were all too close. This is different, Guan Shan reminded himself. He Tian isn’t She Li. Even now He Tian looked at him with tenderness. They were ready to bind themselves to each other. This was just the fulfillment of that unspoken promise, to be together in the future, no matter where they go.
