Summary
Usopp didn’t say anything, instead just pointing at Luffy’s soulmark.
He blinked down at it in amazement. It wasn’t black anymore. It was a deep blue, gleaming metallic under the harsh lights of the cabin.
“Oh! WOW!” he exclaimed. “When did that happen?”
“When did… Luffy, are you serious?”
“Why should I know?”
“…they said it to your face!”
“Oh yeah! Hmm…” Luffy paused, squinting harder at the words. “I don’t remember.”
———
Everyone says that soulmates are a special, wonderful thing, and Luffy believes that wholeheartedly. But no one seems able to describe what makes them so different from the many, many other people Luffy’s loved in his life.
And he was fine not knowing right up until his own words finally lit up. Now, not only doesn’t he understand what they stand for, but he doesn’t even remember who said them to him! And each passing day makes it less and less likely that he’ll find out.
Oh well, Robin says these things eventually sort themselves out. He can only hope that she’s right (she usually is).

Summary
“You’ve been…beaten up.”
He doesn’t sound particularly clever while stating the obvious, his head tilted to a side, his brows slightly furrowed. Still, he might have hit a nerve, because Lando rolls his eyes and then shrugs, his cocky look a little less cocky than usual.
Fake, he finds himself thinking, trying to examine the bruise on the side of his face without reaching out to brush against it with the tip of his fingers.
“You should have seen the other guy. I mean, it’s probable you’ll see him anyway, once the river spits his body back…”
His manic, hysterical laugh is rather unconvincing. He’s not some kind of Joker, straight outta Gotham and blah blah blah, he’s more of a sad, desperate man who doesn’t look his age and perhaps not even his place in the world.
He looks rather pathetic. A living contradiction.
“Was he sent to eliminate you?”
Now it’s Lando’s turn to frown.
“Why do you care?”Officer Oscar Piastri finds his nemesis, the hired assassin Lando Norris, waiting for him in his kitchen. When Lando, who's obviously on the run from the mysterious syndicate for which he works, asks to have dinner together, he cannot refuse.

Then Japan happens.
Jack corners him at the back of the paddock, fingers brushing against Lando’s cheek as he whispers, “Does my baby brother know where your heart truly lies?”
Suddenly, Lando realizes healing was never going to be linear—not when your ex and your boyfriend share the same face.
