Aether must know who he is. Xiao has a pretty distinct face and hairstyle, and the highlight of this event was his team’s match. But the conversation so far hasn’t been made awkward by any requests for pictures or solicitations for advice. No, this is the first time Xiao has had a somewhat normal conversation with someone other than his teammates.
Either Aether doesn’t know who Xiao is—which would be ignorant and amusing—or he does, and still, he’s treating Xiao just like anyone else.
The thought makes Xiao feel simultaneously unsteady and also firmly rooted in place.
