Summary
When Sara receives a golden envelope signed by a ‘secret admirer’, she first treats it as a hoax. ‘Sweet Sara,’ writes her admirer, ‘It is my pleasure to invite you to Prospero Island’. Without signing his name, he adds that she must prepare for departure a week from now, and that resistance will be fruitless.
As more letters come, Sara goes to the police. Detective Alex Mahone is suspicious of her story, but his partner, Michael Scofield, thinks the threat is real. When Sara disappears on the date mentioned in the letter, there is no doubt to Michael’s mind that she has become a captive on Prospero Island. There, she must learn to deal with the ways of this strange place, and its yet stranger owner.
