He retraced his steps. Meticulously. Obsessively. As though somewhere, hidden among the countless ordinary moments of the previous few weeks, there existed a single misplaced word capable of explaining everything. At first he was certain it had been something obvious.
He replayed every interaction they had shared during the last week, examining them with the same relentless attention he usually reserved for mission reports, only to arrive at the same frustrating conclusion every single time.Nothing had happened. Which somehow made it worse. It wasn't something he could fight against.

John looked up from the cups, and frowned. Obviously Sherlock still had no problem speaking to him when he wasn't in the room. He sighed, rolled his eyes, and reached for the sugar.
« Good morning to you too, Sherlock. Do we what ? »
« Have a cat. »
John poured the coffee and put the cups on a tray, added two sugar cubes and a spoon in Sherlock's cup, and made his way to the sitting room towards his own armchair.
« No, we don't. At least not that I know of. Why ? »
« He's in my spot. » Sherlock said, pointing to the right side of the sofa.

John and Sherlock just found out that Mycroft has been tapping into their phone lines. Again.
They also discovered that, although he promised not too, he's almost always listening in. AGAIN.
Really, the term "Big Brother" seems to have been invented JUST FOR MYCROFT!
But this time, they have a plan. Yes, this time, next time they're on the phone and they suspect Mycroft is listening in, they are going to make him so disgusted that he won't be able to finish his tea-time scone.
... They are going to fight this.... with love. They know Mycroft does not like to hear them, see them or even *imagine* them acting out on their feelings for each other. And frankly, they're not really that expansive in front of people anyway.
But this time, they have a common goal. This time, they even have a contest.
They are going to make the cutest, most romantic, most adorable love declamations to each other on the phone.
The first one to make Mycroft hang up wins.

“C’mon, move a little,” Leon groaned, breaking the kiss for only barely long enough to get the words out. He was squirming a little, trying to get away from the edge of the shelf that was digging painfully into the small of his back. Not that he had the presence of mind to worry about it, really, not when Piers had already shoved a hand underneath his shirt, greedily pushing the garment upwards, the warm touch drawing a shiver from Leon.
The only answer Piers managed was a breathy “Hm?” but he obviously hadn’t even heard the words as instead of turning, or pulling back, he pressed even closer. One of his legs was between Leon’s, and he pinned him hard against the shelving unit as he kissed him breathless. It was distracting enough that Leon actually forgot about everything else for a moment, from the shelf pressing against his probably bruised side to the fact that they were in Chris’ office space, definitely not supposed to be kissing like their lives depended on it.

Chris was absolutely one hundred percent done, and couldn’t stop himself as he burst out in anger. “You know what!?“ he spat, swirling around to face Leon properly. “You can go fuck yourself!“
Something complicated flashed over Leon’s face, but he obviously didn’t even pause to think, not before he already shot back a reply. “Why don’t you fuck me yourself, you coward!“
Chris froze, staring at Leon disbelievingly. His brain rebooted entirely and he really, really wanted to throw back something… if not angry then at least something witty, but in the end all that he managed was a baffled “...do what now?”
