And then when Viktor talked about himself, maybe confessed his lack of physical intimacy, Jayce would casually and smoothly outline his proposition: tutoring for touches. Everyone wins. It would go great.

Summary
After the Hexgates were a major success and with the council agreeing to expand their funding greatly, Jayce and Viktor decided to experiment on some anomalies that occurred during the testing stage of the Hexgate prototype. They called it the "Hexport"; a portal that seemed to only manifest through certain runes. Things that enter it come out differently than they were before, so, of course, the interest of two brilliant young scientists was roused.
But it was only a matter of time before things went wrong and Jayce experienced an adventure he never asked for.
OR
Local scientists discover their parallel-universe-divorce-era and found themselves between fixing a portal and fixing the relationship of two sworn enemies.
