Summary
She looks down at fists that she can’t believe are her own, then wheezes, her body feeling unfamiliar, like it belongs to a stranger. Her hand wraps itself around her sister’s neck and her mind begs her to stop, because this is never what she has ever wanted any part of this to come to. She was supposed to protect the woman beneath her, that is what she has always tried to do, and this is not that. Vi feels sick to her stomach– she doesn’t know how everything in her life managed to fall apart so quickly, but she just wants time to freeze for a moment so she can pick up the broken, jagged pieces to find what is left that can be salvaged. She wants to cry, she wants to scream, but she keeps swinging, and she has no idea why or how to put her fists down.

Vi’s chuckle fades as she keeps eye contact with her sister, her hands not moving from her waist… her hands… are moving… her sister… closer.
The eye contact is too much for them so they each close their eyes, but their hands guide them. Vi pulls her closer, Jinx pulls her down.
Their lips touch, deliberately. They hold it for two heartbeats then let go.
“Umm, goodnight Jinx.” Vi doesn't open her eyes until she's turned down the hallway. She enters her room, closes the door behind her without turning, then slides her back against the door until she is sitting on the floor.
What the fuck just happened.
