Eren's face turned vermilion. “That's not exactly the point, Armin!”
“Yes, it is. Prom is the perfect opportunity to act on it.” Armin looked at his friend knowingly. “It's your best shot.”
“Yeah, it's my best shot, if getting my heart and probably several bones broken would have been my goal. But it isn't. So thank you very much.”
Eren hated it, he hated how his friends were able to read his emotions so easily, even though he tried his hardest to act around Levi like normal. At this point, he was thanking his lucky stars that Levi, for whatever reason, didn't seem to catch on.

Eren had tried to swoon Levi over several times in the past. At least he thought he had. Since his attempts were fruitless, he decided to not bother trying any longer.
Lucky for him, fate intervened - or in other words: Friends who could no longer stand watching this misery unfold. -

Levi huffed, shaking his head as he began to make Eren’s drink in front of him. “Sorry to disappoint but I wasn’t doing any of that. Well, besides the fist fights at times, I suppose.”
Eren let a laugh escape him, imagining a teenage Levi throwing someone half his size down against the fake grass of a football field. “Sorry, that was a funny image. I’d love to do you.”
Levi paused and Eren wanted to die for, once again, fumbling over his words.
“Oh my god—I meant I would love to do a tattoo on you! I wouldn’t mind doing one for you! Not that I was imagining doing a tattoo on you or anything! Or—I would love to but not love, love. Like you’re not the only thing on my mind!” Oh fuck.
In which, Eren run's a tattoo shop as an omega, and Levi runs a tea shop as an alpha across from each other.

Eren had finally started to get his life back together. He'd gotten into his first choice university alongside his two best friends, had started looking for potential part-time jobs and had applied to the same dormitory as Armin had. All to get away from the clutches of his abusive asshole of a father.
Things were finally starting to look up again.
But then, one morning an unexpected dizziness overcame the supposed beta on his way to classes, fever breaking out on his skin, heated flames licking at the insides of his weak and trembling body.
